Human Hearing Range

Human is the only species with a well-developed brain. It enables us to reason, learn and make prudent decisions. Unfortunately, human intelligence does not make them have the best senses. The humans have low sensory, olfactory along with auditory senses. Many animals have a very well developed hearing. They have the ability to hear acoustic wave for long distances than what we can perceive. The human frequency range is also limited as compared to what other animals can detect.

First, it is very important to understand how the human ear operates.

Perception and Measurement of Acoustic waves in the Human Ear

The human ear is made up of minute bones and cartilages. Acoustic waves are channeled into the ear through an opening via a tunnel. They finally make the eardrum (tympanic membrane) vibrate to the various frequencies. This oscillation generated are transferred to the ear bones including ossciles, malleus, incus, and stapes. The bones are then determined from the oscillations of these bones. These oscillations are measured using a unit known as the hertz.

My hertz is equivalent to 1cyle per second.

Ranges of frequency that human ear can detect

Human ears have the ability to detect acoustic vibrations in the range of twenty Hertz to twenty kilo Hertz. As you grow older the ranges of the higher frequencies start to constantly disappear. This can generally project a conclusion that earing range for older people is reduced while children can perceive acoustic waves in the whole frequency spectrum.

According to research, the start of loss of detection of high-frequency range starts at the age of eight. Technically, as you grow older your range of hearing reduces with time. This is contrary to other animals that have and established ear. The bats have a good ear, they can sense and decode sound in the ultrasound range. This is so because they use a sonar system for navigating obstacles at night.

The ear a sensory organ allows us to interact with the environment in a mystical manner. With the ear as a receptor, the brain acts as a decoder that interprets and relays information to us. Our hearing is very limited to distance. Near sound, sources are easily perceived while those far you may be faint or no signal is received at all.

The Human Hearing under Ideal Conditions

The human ear can detect a limited band of the audio frequency. If measured in a laboratory setting, the exact frequency range can be easily determined. Using audio frequency generator, the frequencies can be varied from a few hertz to tens of kilohertz. The results always for an average young adult range between 12 Hz – 20 kHz.

Men Vs Women Hearing Range

The fact that men and women are same is not true in terms of audio frequency responses. Women are reported to respond very well to high frequencies than men. However, the obvious is not true at lower frequencies as both men and women show the same response.

Scales for Hearing Range

There are basically two units for measuring hearing. The units are pascal (Pa) and decibels (dB). However, the latter is mostly used as it has relatively reasonable values rather than the former which uses incomprehensible values. The pascal scale measures the distance sound can travel per oscillation. On the other hand, decibel scale expresses the sound in the form of logarithmic scale.

In terms of pascal scale, for instance, human hear can detect between 20 uPa- 20,000,000 uPa.
Similarly, the equivalent logarithmic scale ranges between 0 dB -120 dB.

In general, the hearing range is not universal as people vary in hearing abilities. The values used as the standard range are just used for reference.

Lack Of Sleep Time Causes Stress In Younger Adults

Young adults in the age range of 17-24 exhibit increased signs of stress as their sleep time gets shorter. The end result is a frustrating cycle in which the lack of sleep produces bad moods which in turn prevent individuals from getting sufficient sleep.

Research has indicated that the risk of this demographic category suffering serious stress increases roughly 14 percent for each hour of sleep under eight per night. Individuals who were able to get only six hours of sleep had double the risk of stress.

It can be tough to break out of this trap, but relatively simple solutions do exist.

1. Try engaging in moderately intense activity upon waking, even it only for a couple of minutes. This should be done even when tired. This serves to adjust your biological clock and get you energized for the day. You can do some push-ups, jumping jacks or perhaps some squats to get going. Whenever possible, continue for up to 45 minutes or even an hour to really reap the benefits.

2. Make sure to eat a proper breakfast each day. Plan things out in advance to make it easier. There is nothing wrong with having a little caffeine, but do not go overboard. Steer clear of other forms of stimulant, particularly cigarettes. B vitamins and other nutritional supplements may also help, including magnesium, carnitine, carmoisine and Q10.

3. Explore sleep supporting nutritional strategies to ensure that you fall asleep in time to get no less than seven hours per night.

4. If you continue to experience difficulties, try boosting vitamin C intake and take advantage of flavonoids with anti-inflammatory properties known to lessen brain friction. These include resveratrol, quercetin, grape seed extract and even blueberries.

After you follow some of these tips, sleep will improve as long as the pattern is consistently followed. Try not to stay up later on weekend nights, as this will cause your newly-established sleep habits to be disrupted. Once you have achieved success for several months in a row, you can have the occasional late night. Though, you must be careful not to undermine the progress you have worked so hard to secure.

Presenting Your Best Self to Others

Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder. You could look at someone and think that they are quite attractive. However, I could look at that same individual and not feel the same way. Therefore, in order to be beautiful, you must have confidence. You have to think that you are attractive, because only then will you feel comfortable around others and secure within yourself. A little bit of sophistication can go a long way; you do not necessarily have to be dressed to the nines in order to be seen as beautiful. Beauty is about more than just your clothing.

When thinking about your own appearance, do not start looking at yourself in comparison to another individual. Just because they pretty do not mean that you are not attractive as well. It is not a competition. You have to find your own meaning of beauty, and when you do, you can present your best self to the world. Each day, evaluate your appearance based on how you have looked in the past. Are you more attractive today? What have you done to improve? What makes you feel good about yourself? Your beauty has nothing to do with anyone else’s beauty. You can find it within yourself if you look hard enough.

There is beauty in the world. It is not an artificial creation. What have you seen today that is beautiful? If you consider what you find attractive, you will notice that there are certain things that appeal to you. Carefully consider what this is; you probably have some emotional ties to certain elements that you find attractive.

If you want to find the beauty within yourself, you must be confident. Think about who and what you are. Are there things that you do well? What characteristics do you possess that make you a special human being? When your self-esteem is high, it is easier to find and see the beauty within yourself. If there are things about your personality or behavior that you do not like, work to change them, one thing at a time. As you become more satisfied with these aspects of yourself, you will find that you also feel better about your appearance. You are beautiful. You are worthy. Live your life happy and secure in this knowledge!

Think about what makes you special and beautiful. Work to improve those things that others already see as attractive. For example, if you have a stunning eye color, use makeup to highlight your eyes so that they pop. If you have gorgeous, long hair, spend a few minutes each day tending to it. You will certainly be much happier when you look in the mirror if you do so.

If you truly want to be beautiful, you must also be healthy. Eat a nutritious diet, filled with fruits and vegetables. Stay active so that your body stays strong and healthy. You only get once chance at this life, so you should make each moment count. Show your body that you care by giving it the proper fuel it needs to make it through each day. Take time to rest if you are injured. Pay attention to signs that indicate you need to stop and slow down. Take care of yourself.

Getting older is a necessary evil. That means your hair will turn gray and wrinkles will appear on your face. This is not necessarily a bad thing. You can still embrace your beauty, even as you get older. There is something to be said for being older and wiser, rather than younger and less informed about the world around you. Aging, therefore, can be a good thing. You can get more beautiful with age. You can learn and grow and even enhance your beauty as time moves on.
